I do not have an Apple Pencil so I can not speak on that portion of the case. The keyboard back light changes colors, I prefer to keep it on a softer setting. Things to note: They keyboard requires charging. The keyboard is loose in the folio. For some reason I assumed it was attached. It's not unusable but a little tricky. I wouldn’t recommend it for heavy handers but I do appreciate the feel and lightness.
